We are being bombarded with half-truths,
misinformation, and outright lies on a daily basis. A cursory examination of what
is being proffered by almost any source, inevitably reveals a manipulation of so-called
facts. In one to one interaction, real candor has been replaced by "political
correctness". In store aisles, legislative chambers, board rooms, jury boxes,
bedrooms and innumerable other venues, we are often left to chose between a
"facsimile" and a "caricature" of the truth. Less than total accuracy, and
its inevitable consequences, have become acceptable. The attainment of the
objective, by any means necessary, is all that matters.
So pervasive is this state of affairs that
any expectation of more is met with accusations of naivety. Sadly, we, the people,
have come to expect nothing better; entering into a conspiracy that has begun to
shape daily life. A conspiracy whose terms need never be reduced to writing; whose
participants need not acknowledge their involvement; and whose fruit is available
to all. We observe others violating standards of honesty, integrity, common sense,
public safety and character for gain, or pleasure, without offense or criticism.
We remain silent ... as we wait for our turn to "cash in".
We, at THE FERTILIZER.COM
work to break that silence, calling into question aspects of current wisdom
or practice. Seeking neither agreement nor converts, we "vent" about what we
perceive to be daily insults to conscience and common sense. Our goal is simple:
make the task of dealing with "THE FERTILIZER" that
is a significant part of modern American life a little less daunting. We hope, without
regard to race, creed, religion, national origin, or socio-economic status, to:
inform and illuminate where purveyors of "
THE FERTILIZER" operate in the dark. Despite their best efforts, many of us
do know BS, when we see it ... without the
intervention of experts, pollsters, or pundits;
provide comfort and hope through the knowledge that you are not alone
in your observations and analysis; and finally,
offer the only defense we often have...a laugh.
